In case you haven’t heard the talk of the town (or the East side, at least), a weekly Farmers’ Market bringing local fare to the East Austin Community is beginning Sunday, September 9th and will be located at the Mueller Austin Browning Hangar.
The event will be held every Sunday from 10 AM – 2 PM. There will be 40 local vendors bringing local fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, honey, baked goods, wine and more. In addition, the grand opening will feature cooking demonstrations, free yoga instruction, live music, story-telling, pony rides & a petting zoo. Certainly an event that the whole family can enjoy.
The Mueller Farmers’ Market is operated by F2M Texas, a non-profit organization that was named as one of the “Top 20 Large Farmers Markets in the US” in 2011.
What does this mean to me as a Mueller Homeowner? Well, aside from the obvious fact that you will be able to step out your front door and pick up fresh, local, organic foods on a regular basis (and feel all the warm & fuzzy feelings that accompany that), it also means that the powers that be believe there is enough consumer interest from Mueller and neighboring communities to support such an event. This is great news and likely a sign of more good things to come, particularly (hopefully) the highly sought-after local businesses that have been part of the vision of Mueller Austin from the inception.
From a real estate perspective, it can also only mean good things. The more that Mueller’s vision is realized and amenities become bountiful, the higher the property values – it’s pretty simple, people want to live in a neighborhood with lots to do, places to shop, restaurants to try, shows to catch, all the while having easy access to all things central.
Hope to see you Sunday!
