NEW AFFORDABLE FAMILY COMMUNITY COMING TO MUELLERBig news! Foundation Communities recently won the funding they needed to build a new affordable family community in Mueller.

Next year they will break ground on The Jordan – a 132-unit complex that will feature housing for people making about 50 to 60 percent of the median family income, with 14 units reserved for families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  These families will have access to great schools and job opportunities, green spaces and kid-friendly activities, as well as on-site education, financial stability, and health programs.

The Jordan will be built using $13.5 million in low-income housing tax credits from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, plus $4 million provided by the city of Austin from its 2013 voter-approved housing bonds.

While public funding helps Foundation Communities to build new affordable housing, they couldn’t provide the services that truly transform their residents’ lives without the continued generosity of community members.
