The big news is finally here and we have some actual numbers to talk about now (well, sort of). Catellus announced today that homes in the new section of Mueller Austin are now selling, providing starting pricing and square footage for each style home we can expect in Section 6.

Each builder is handling the process in their own way, but I do know that David Weekley began contacting my clients today to schedule appointments to share more specifics regarding floor plans, pricing, options, lot availability and to potentially start writing contracts. They will be releasing their homes in phases, beginning with the ones that are scheduled to be built first.

So, if the home you really want is one of the first ones they plan to build, you can put down $10,000 earnest money (no contingencies on the sale of a home) and sign a contract at your first appointment. If you the home you want is in a subsequent phase, you will have the opportunity to put down $2000 as a sort of lot hold, which will give you the right of first refusal, and is 100% refundable if you choose to pass on it when the time comes.
