Sunday’s Statesman had a great article detailing all the goings-on in Mueller Austin. The headline appropriately reads ‘Mueller Set for Quantum Leap in Growth This Year’ and that’s no joke. I think I gave a recap in a previous post of what all is on the docket so far for 2012/2013, but it’s worth repeating because honestly, it’s pretty stinkin’ cool how much is going on in this neighborhood. According to the Greg Weaver (of Catellus) via the Statesman, there will be $250 million worth of projects due to break ground in 2012:
- 75,000 sq. ft. HEB Grocery Store at the corner of 51st & Berkman
- Residence Inn by Marriott, with 112 rooms at Lancaster & 51st street with ground floor retail
- Second phase of apartments next to the Mosaic, with 301 units
- AISD Performing Arts Center
- Austin Playhouse theater to open Fall 2012 in the Town Center
- The Austin Children’s Museum will be moving from their location at 2nd & Colorado to the Town Center (although, it’s not certain they’ll break ground in 2012)
- Expansion of the Dell Children’s Medical Center, including a 75 bed wing
- Pecan Street Demonstration House
- OH WAIT, AND 221 NEW HOMES!
- 30 Yard Homes – builders are Standard Pacific & David Weekely
- 42 Garden Homes – builder is David Weekley (they just completed their first 49 garden homes between Berkman & Tom Miller)
- 76 Row Homes – builders are Streetman & David Weekley who both have experience building Row Homes at Mueller
- 24 Mueller House Condos – by Standard Pacific who is currently completing their first 10 buildings (of 4 units each)
- 35 Courtyard Row Homes (new) – by Streetman Homes
- 14 Shop Houses (new) – Homes by Avi
