It’s that time of year again!  The weather is getting cooler and the days are getting shorter.  Perfect for Movies in the Park at the Lake Park Amphitheater.  The kick-off for this free event is Friday, October 5th with the Wizard of Oz.  There will be kids’ activities that start around 6 PM and the movie will begin about 7:30 PM.  The trailer eateries will be open for business!

This will be the first of three Movies in the Park, so no worries if you can’t make this one:

  • Friday, October 12 Journey to the Center of the Earth
  • Friday, October 19 Puss In Boots

If you haven’t been to Mueller Austin recently, you might want to come early and take a look at all the new home construction.  It really is amazing how quickly bare land turns into homes and woven into the fabric of the neighborhood.  David Weekley has 11 homes standing and counting and Standard Pacific has now broken ground on their yard homes in Section 6.

They are also furiously working away on the Austin Children’s Museum, which had it’s ground-breaking event last week.  We can look forward to an anticipated opening of late 2013.

And of course, we can’t forget the HEB/Market District.  They’re working on extending Berkman Drive to 51st Street, helping to connect Mueller with it’s neighbors to the north. They still anticipate at Summer 2013 opening of the HEB, as well as a few restaurants & shops.  That’s just around the corner guys!
